Back-to-School Supplies Recap
I want to personally thank each of you who spent your time and money buying back packs and school supplies for some of our local school children in need! We were able to provide about 150 fully-loaded back packs along with cards that told them of Christ’s love for them before school began and it made an impact on the teachers, principles, parents and children who were involved. A special thanks to Jo Linda Mozisek and Jen Girten who sacrificed much of their time along with Dave Young in planning, preparing and executing this wonderful outreach! Here’s just one email from a teacher who experienced the impact of the love of Christ.
Somehow I forgot to mention the results of our Back-to-School Supplies drive that we did for the month of August but it was very successful, by God’s grace! Our congregation provided 150 fully-loaded back packs for families who were in significant need of school supplies for their children. Each back pack came with a card that shared Christ’s love with them and info about our church. This was volunteer conceived by 2 of the teachers in our congregation and mostly volunteer led so our team is thrilled that we’re beginning to hand off ministry to our leaders. The greatest part was hand delivering them to the schools and meeting some of the children and families who received these. Many were greatly impacted by this… here’s an email one of our volunteers passed along to me.
“ I just wanted to tell you how much happiness your church has brought to some of our needy students. I had one 6th grade parent who thanked me with tears in her eyes. She was so moved by the fact that you were able to help her daughter.”
